Tennessee Online High School

Welcome to High School of America, Tennessee’s top online high school! We offer a challenging curriculum in a flexible, nurturing environment.

No matter where you live or what your schedule is like, we provide the flexibility and convenience of online education from home. We are dedicated to helping students from grade 9 to grade 12 succeed with their academic goals. Our goal is simple: we prepare high school students for college-level work and career success.

We currently offer over 36 full-credit courses that follow the Tennessee state standards of learning. All of our courses were developed by local teachers and experts in order to best meet the needs of our students.

We’re Different from Other Online Schools in Tennessee

While we do offer some courses that can be taken 100% online.

We know that not every teen is motivated by traditional schooling, which is why we’ve developed an alternative approach to teaching and learning: blended learning. Blended learning at High School of America works like this: Students first take a placement test and then our staff creates individualized plans for them to reach their goals based on how much time they can devote to studying each week.

If necessary, we will connect students with one-on-one tutoring from our educational professionals or mentors. Our faculty members will then check in with students on a regular basis to ensure they are staying on track and learning as much as possible throughout their enrollment.

Tennessee Online High School Diploma

An online high school diploma is an attractive option for students who struggle in a traditional environment or who prefer to study on their own. There are several things parents need to know about taking classes online, including that many colleges and employers have not adopted the idea of online diplomas.

Many students attend an online high school for this reason: they can prepare themselves in case future employers or colleges refuse them based on their diploma.

High School Equivalency Diploma: GED, HiSET, and TASC

If you haven’t been able to make it through high school and you don’t want to return back in order to get a traditional diploma, there are options available to you. These include the GED, HiSET, and TASC exams. Each test will cover material that is typically learned in tenth grade across multiple subjects; this includes math skills, social studies topics, scientific reasoning, and language arts.

You’ll also need to take a writing test (optional) if you want to earn your diploma with one of these other tests. The only difference between the exams is the format: all three of them can either be taken online or on paper. So, if your schedule makes it difficult for you to attend classes at a brick-and-mortar school, you might want to take one of these tests instead. We at High School of America can help you achieve whichever goal you set for yourself!

Online High School for Adults

If you’re an adult looking to return to school, you might be thinking about how different your learning experience will be compared to that of a traditional student. Maybe you have already enrolled in an online high school or are still researching your options; either way, there are several questions you should keep in mind as you navigate through this process.

One important consideration is whether the school offers classes on campus. Many virtual schools rely entirely on distance education, meaning they don’t have any physical locations where courses are taught. This means students only interact with their instructors outside of class through email or sometimes instant messaging.

About Our Curriculum

We follow a rigorous American education model that was designed to prepare students for college and careers. This means we cover the same academic material you would find at any other reputable high school in your state. Our courses include English, math, science, history, foreign language, electives, and much more.

Homeschooling Programs

Homeschooling is a unique educational option that may be the right choice for you and your family. Academic standards vary from state to state, but we can help students achieve whatever goals they set for themselves.

We offer online homeschooling programs, which means our classes are self-paced and mentors work one-on-one with students to ensure they stay on track throughout their studies. This can be a great fit for adult learners who need flexibility in how their day is structured.

Whether you have a job or other commitments, you won’t have trouble working around your schedule so you can graduate at your own pace. It’s also worth noting that homeschooling often requires parents to keep records of attendance and lessons completed, as well as submitting grades for any tests students take.

College Prep Courses

If you plan on continuing your education after high school, we can help you take the next step and prepare for college admission. Our courses were created with the intention of preparing students to succeed in entry-level classes at a four-year university. With our guidance, you’ll be able to confidently tell colleges that you’re serious about their school and ready to meet them halfway during this exciting time of academic growth!

Tennessee Online Public-School Reviews

Online high schools in Tennessee allow students to access coursework and complete assignments from their own computers, allowing them to maintain a work-life balance.

Since online high school courses are conducted through the Internet, they provide many of the same benefits as other distance learning programs: flexible class schedules, increased personalization of curricula, cost efficiency, and more. Students can typically access course material at any time that is convenient for them; some classes may even be completed entirely online. However, this also means that teachers cannot physically monitor student progress on assignments like they would in a brick-and-mortar classroom. While most academics receive support from their instructors via email or phone calls, self-motivation and dedication is necessary for success in these courses.
